Outsourced IT
Your IT Department, Without Hiring One
We can act as your outsourced IT department, so you don't have to build one. Your people get support from a team that is accountable for their computers, accounts and data. Because we look at the whole business, we'll also tell you when the real problem isn't the computer at all.
Is this you?
Who This Is For
Businesses that have grown past the point where the owner, or whoever is best with computers, can keep handling IT on the side. There's enough technology to need real care, but not enough to justify hiring someone full time.
It tends to show up in small ways. Nobody has checked lately whether the backups can actually be restored. The laptops were bought at different times from different places, and nobody is sure which ones are due for replacement. Software renews on a card nobody remembers signing up with. When the internet goes down, the owner is the one on hold with the provider.
If that sounds familiar, there's no need to work out exactly what to ask for. Tell us what's getting in the way and we'll take it from there.
The outcome
What Changes for Your Business
This is what we work toward when we look after your IT. We agree the details with you at the start and check them as we go.
Someone is responsible for your IT
When something goes wrong, you know who to call, and we already know how your setup fits together.
Dependable tools for your team
Computers, Wi-Fi and everyday software are looked after, so problems are more likely to be caught while they're small.
New hires are ready to work
We aim to have accounts, email, a working computer and the right access in place on someone's first day.
People who leave lose access
When someone leaves, we remove their access to email, files and the systems we look after, and pass their mailbox and files to whoever you choose.
Your systems are maintained
Updates and renewals happen on a schedule instead of whenever someone remembers.
Your data is looked after
Backups are set up and tested, and practical security measures are in place. If something does go wrong, there's a plan.
Someone understands your setup
How everything is configured is written down, so that knowledge belongs to the business and not to one person's memory.
No IT department to build
You get a team looking after your technology without recruiting and managing one of your own.
Day to day
What We Look After
The work falls into a handful of areas. We scope each one to your business, so you only take on what you need.
Everyday support
Remote help for your team when something stops working, plus the regular upkeep that happens between problems.
Email, files and accounts
Administration of Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace, including user accounts, sign-in security and who can see which files.
Computers and the office network
Setting up new computers, keeping your business computers updated and patched, and looking after your network and Wi-Fi.
People joining and leaving
A set routine for new hires and departures, built so people have the access their job needs when they start and lose it when they go.
Backups, security and recovery
Backups that are checked, practical security sized for a small business, protection on every computer, and a plan for getting back to work if something fails.
Vendors, licenses and purchasing
We deal with your technology vendors, keep track of software licenses and renewals, and help you buy equipment that suits the job.
Planning and documentation
Technology assessments, a plan for replacing equipment before it gives out, written standards and procedures, and a record of how everything is set up.
How it works
How We Take On Your IT
The same six steps we use for everything else, applied to your technology.
Size Up
We look at what you have: devices, accounts, network, backups, software and who can get into what. We also ask how the work gets done, because that's where the bigger problems can hide.
Strategy
We agree on what to fix first, usually anything that puts your data or your ability to work at risk, and what good IT support should look like for your business.
Resource
We work out what's needed, keep what you already own where it does the job, and tell you plainly when something should be replaced.
Execute
We put the fixes and routines in place, set up support for your team and write down how everything works.
Measure
We track what matters, such as recurring problems, how long people wait for help and whether test restores succeed, and report back in plain terms.
Reassess
As the business changes, we revisit the setup, plan the next round of replacements and look for what's worth improving next.
The difference
More Than Fixing Computers
Keeping computers and Wi-Fi working is real work, and we do it. We also pay attention to what the technology is telling us about the rest of the business.
The laptop that keeps crashing might be running the spreadsheet the whole business depends on. The shared login everyone uses might be there because nobody set up proper accounts when the team grew. Each one is an IT fix, and each one says something about the process behind it.
It can work the other way too. Once a proper customer system is in place, an owner may see for the first time how many quotes never turn into work. That's a sales problem, not an IT one, and we can help with that as well.
When the Fix Isn't IT
Looking after your IT puts us close to how the business really runs. Sometimes that turns up work worth doing, like two systems that should share information, a routine task that could be automated, or a workflow no product on the market handles well.
When that happens, we raise it, explain the options and let you decide. We start with the simplest option that does the job, and custom software only comes into it when nothing simpler will.
Technology leadership
A Technology Lead at the Table
Growing businesses reach decisions that need a senior technology view: which systems to invest in, when to replace equipment, how seriously to take a security risk and what to do about AI. We can provide that view without the cost of a full-time hire, planning with you and explaining the options in plain language, the way a larger company would rely on its CIO. You get a plan you understand and a team responsible for carrying it out, without hiring an executive.

Questions Owners Ask
Is this the same as managed IT services?
It covers the same everyday ground: support for your team, accounts, devices, backups and security, looked after on an ongoing basis. The difference is that we do it as part of looking at the whole business, so when an IT problem turns out to be about a process, a vendor or how the work is organized, we can help with that too.
Do we need to replace our current IT provider?
Not necessarily. If you have a provider you're happy with, we can work alongside them on the process and software side. If a staff member has been handling IT on top of their real job, we can take some or all of it off their plate. We'll work out which makes sense during the Size Up.
Will we have to buy new equipment?
Not unless there's a clear reason. We start with what you already own, and you'll know why any replacement is needed before you spend anything.
Will you push us toward custom software?
No. We start with the tools you already have and get them working properly. We recommend building something only when the products on the market genuinely can't support the way the work runs.
How is it priced?
Every business starts from a different place, so we scope the work after the Size Up and set it out in a written proposal. You'll know what's covered before you agree to anything.
Are we locked in?
Not by design. Your setup is documented and your accounts belong to your business, so another provider could pick up where we left off. We'd like you to stay because the work is useful, not because it's hard to leave.
Tell Us What Keeps Going Wrong
Start with a conversation about the problems your team runs into. We'll look at your setup and give you an honest view of what we'd take on, and why.
